Pelikan M120 Iconic Blue Special Edition, M101N 14K Medium, inked with Diamine Blue Black

Due to quirk of my new pen rotation selection system the M120 Iconic Blue SE makes its second appearance a good five weeks before it previously would. I am not complaining as I am quite taken with the minimal look of this pen.

Bought with the first M101N this nib has been in my collection for over five years now. I really like the look of these retro nibs and it goes well with minimal look of the M120 pen.

Ink number 17 into my collection, I have had this ink for 7⅔ year now. It has always shaded well on any paper but use with 52gsm Tomoe River allows it to show what a huge red sheener it is. This is one of my favourite blue black inks and I feel sad I only use it every 2½ years.

Pilot Custom 742 Black/Gold, Custom 742 14K FA, inked with Diamine Blue Black

Japanese, black resin with gold trim - yep another of my Pilot Custom 742 pens. I have five of these pens, three only available for rotation since my decision to only play with my fun ones

The nib provides the fun for this pen. This FA nib is flexible in the modern sense of the word. It is not the classic wet noodle nibs we see normally attached to a vintage Waterman. This nib produces a fine line but will extend to a double broad width if you apply pressure.

The standard Diamine bottle, enough said.

I love the shade of this Blue Black ink. It shades pretty well especially with this flexible nib.
