You can't get more simple than a black pen with gold trim. Some people in the pen community look down their nose at them and think they are boring. I look at them and choose to consider them workmanlike.

There is nothing workmanlike about this nib however. It left the Pelikan factory as a medium and was turned into a 0.6mm Stub by Richard Binder. I did not commission this custom nib but purchased it with a M805 Black pen some 5½ years ago. It does not quite have the sharpness of cursive italic but is a lovely writer with some line variation.

Noodler's Berning Red is the third in the range of fast drying inks satirising Ben Bernanke (the former Chairman of the Federal Reserve). Other than being fast drying this is just a standard medium red ink - nothing to get excited about.
